Happy start to the week, everyone.
I want to tell you that these days have been the kind that seem to go on forever, where work demands your best from the very first minute. I finished my shift just a few hours ago, because I had to write up reports on the work we did, and although I'm exhausted, I also feel satisfied with everything we achieved.
Early this morning, I received a call from the Sunsol Unik hotel. They asked me to coordinate the cleaning and disinfection of the hotel's water tank, a task that requires precision, commitment, and a lot of coordination. So, without thinking twice, I got ready and headed to the hotel to meet with the team and go over all the details. The cleaning had to be done before the water from the street arrived in the early morning, so there was no time to waste.
The morning weather was beautiful. As always, I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the natural and urban landscape around me. I love capturing those moments, not only because I find them beautiful, but because I like to share with you what I see in my daily life. There is something special about those moments of calm before the hustle and bustle begins.

Quiero contarles que estos días fueron de esos que parecieron no tener fin, donde el trabajo exige lo mejor de uno desde el primer minuto. Apenas hace unas horas terminé mi jornada, porque tuve que hacer los informes del trabajo realizado, y aunque estoy agotada, también me siento satisfecha por todo lo que logramos.
Desde muy temprano en la mañana recibí una llamada del hotel Sunsol Unik. Me solicitaron coordinar el lavado y desinfección del tanque de agua del hotel, una tarea que requiere precisión, compromiso y mucha coordinación. Así que sin pensarlo dos veces, me alisté y salí rumbo al hotel para reunirme con el equipo y revisar todos los detalles. La limpieza debía hacerse antes de que llegara el agua de la calle en la madrugada, así que no había tiempo que perder.
El clima matutino estaba precioso. Como siempre, aproveché para tomar algunas fotografías del paisaje natural y urbano que me rodeaba. Me encanta capturar esos momentos, no solo porque me parecen hermosos, sino porque me gusta compartir con ustedes lo que veo en mi día a día. Hay algo especial en esos instantes de calma antes de que comience el ajetreo.

When we arrived at the hotel, we met with the staff to coordinate every step of the process. The idea was to have everything ready for the evening, when the water would begin to enter. Once everything was clear and organized, I withdrew to prepare what was necessary: securing snacks for the team, verifying that we had sufficient hydration, and checking the safety equipment. It is essential to take care of those who work in the tanks, as the temperatures inside can be quite high and the physical effort is considerable.

Al llegar al hotel, nos reunimos con el personal para coordinar cada paso del proceso. La idea era que todo estuviera listo para la noche, cuando el agua comenzara a entrar. Una vez que todo quedó claro y organizado, me retiré para preparar lo necesario: asegurar la merienda del equipo, verificar que tuviéramos suficiente hidratación y revisar los implementos de seguridad. Es fundamental cuidar a quienes trabajan en los tanques, ya que las temperaturas dentro pueden ser bastante altas y el esfuerzo físico es considerable.

Late at night, we all returned to the hotel to begin cleaning the tank, which has a capacity of 360,000 liters. Each team member knows exactly what to do, and the best part is that everyone works together. That solidarity and focus on a job well done is what sets us apart. We are driven by a commitment to get things done quickly, but without compromising on quality.

Ya entrada la noche, regresamos todos al hotel para comenzar con la limpieza del tanque, que tiene una capacidad de 360,000 litros. Cada miembro del equipo sabe exactamente qué debe hacer, y lo más bonito es que todos colaboran entre sí. Esa solidaridad y enfoque en el trabajo bien hecho es lo que nos caracteriza. Nos mueve el compromiso de hacer las cosas rápido, pero sin perder la calidad.

The first step was to drain the tank until there was about 30 cm of water left, which we used to scrub the walls and floor. Some of my colleagues go into the tank, while the rest of us stay outside, attentive to their needs and making sure the pumps are working properly. As always, I stayed outside. I am the only woman on the team, and although I have been told many times that I am not allowed to go in for safety reasons, they also recognize me as the one who keeps an eye on everything. And that makes me feel useful and valued.

El primer paso fue sacar el agua del tanque hasta dejar unos 30 cm, que usamos para cepillar las paredes y el piso. Algunos compañeros entran al tanque, mientras otros nos quedamos afuera atentos a sus necesidades y vigilando que las bombas funcionen correctamente. Yo, como siempre, me quedo fuera. Soy la única mujer del equipo y aunque me han dicho muchas veces que no me dejan entrar por seguridad, también me reconocen como la que está pendiente de todo. Y eso me hace sentir útil y valorada.

Once the solids carried by the water have been removed, calcium hypochlorite is applied to completely disinfect the tank. The staff then leaves and the space is sealed for about 30 minutes. After that time, the street water valve is opened and the filling process begins, so that the hotel can once again have clean and safe water.

Una vez que se retiran los sólidos que trae el agua, se aplica hipoclorito de calcio para desinfectar completamente el tanque. Luego, el personal se retira y se sella el espacio por unos 30 minutos. Pasado ese tiempo, se abre la llave del agua de la calle y se inicia el proceso de llenado, para que el hotel pueda contar nuevamente con agua limpia y segura.

The whole process took about five and a half hours. Sometimes we manage to finish in four, but that depends on how much water is left in the tank. Although this time there was more water than agreed, we managed to complete the job without any major setbacks. Best of all, the hotel guests were not inconvenienced, as most of the work was done while they were asleep.
I wanted to share this experience with you so you can learn a little more about what we do as a company. It's hard work, but also very rewarding.

Todo el proceso duró unas cinco horas y media. A veces logramos terminar en cuatro, pero eso depende de la cantidad de agua que haya quedado en el tanque. A pesar de que esta vez había más agua de la pactada, logramos cumplir sin mayores contratiempos. Lo mejor de todo es que los huéspedes del hotel no se sintieron incómodos, ya que la mayor parte del trabajo se realizó mientras dormían.
Quería compartirles esta experiencia para que conozcan un poco más sobre lo que hacemos como compañía. Es un trabajo duro, pero también muy gratificante.
