My daily blog : Two years ago

Hi, my dear friends!
Here we are in the third year of the war... the thirteenth to be exact... Today I am remembering what it was like. I'll probably be writing about the war more often in the next couple of months. Two years ago we woke up to explosions. I've already told you that I live between Bucha and Borodyanka. Yes, we were in the very epicentre... russian warplanes were flying right over the roof of my house.
The first video is the last night before the war. Even on the evening of the 23rd of February, we didn't know what the morning would be like. And many people never knew, because the russians started by shelling residential neighbourhoods.
But the evening of 23 February was cosy in my house. My puppies were sleeping and I took a video of them. They were incredibly cute.
The morning was horrible. There was no fear. There was a complete incomprehension of how this could even be. My reality was shattered. But even as I heard the explosions and saw the black smoke, I couldn't believe it was happening.
We started to say the word war, but we didn't understand its meaning yet. It was something theoretical, although the reality had already changed. I didn't even try to put petrol in the car...or go to the shop, because my fridge was empty, I only had dog food. If I'd known! But I had no experience of war at all and I was confused...
I phoned my daughter, who lives in Kiev. I could hear the sounds of explosions on the phone. It's amazing that we had any communication at all. It was decided that my daughter and son-in-law would come to me. My friends who live in Irpen also tried to come to me, but had to return because the road was already blocked. I will see them only in two months, but at that time I did not know about it yet.
I have added another video about the defence of Gostomel. Gostomel is also not far from my house, about 25 minutes by car.
