Today, as I lay resting on my bed, my eldest daughter came to me. Her heart broken, by the level of unjustice in the world. She is a deep thinker and super sensitive. She feels so deeply and because she wants to know what is happening in the world, she is aware of some the atrocities taking place right now. I can not imagine what it must feel like, to be so aware, whilst also being a teenager. The whole world is at our finger tips, thanks to the internet. Because of that, their is no hiding from what is happening, especially if you want to know.

There is no protecting her from the world, when she wants to be a part of it, when she refuses to look away. I am so proud of her for that. Kids and teenagers, gosh they need to be really tough these days, really resilient. Because we are living through some dark times.

I told her just as much, how it is so important that all the injustice finally come into the light, so that everyone sees what is happening in the world and finally things can change. People need to wake up to the reality of the human world. To the lies and deception.

That we finally get to shed a light on those that are fucking up the planet, on those who are causing the most suffering. So that they can no longer hid, but be finally seen for who they are. It's all too easy for us to point the finger at one another. To label each other and increase the divide that is keeping us apart, when we really should be rallying together.

Broken, they said
twisted and distorted
unnatural,
labelled by the very ones,
that seek to imprison and conform us.

How easy to break away,
to slip beneath the veils
these made up rules,
to work, sleep,
reproduce and die.

To repeat, the madness
that lies within their minds.
A fragile switch,
waiting to be flipped.

To become a mirror,
in this twisted world,
to reflect the truth
back into the eyes,
of those who wish to deceive.

To cast a light,
on the freedom that awaits,
that lies in the shadows,
calling out to us.

To tap into that anger,
that once burnt away at our reserve,
to bring it into the light,
so that we can transform,
so that we can,
take back control.
