Here is to women's art!

We had a nice view of the golf course, to bad we couldn't actually get there.

Women's day is not just one day...

On March 9th I went to an art exhibition, as I did on March 8th, this time I knew all the artists, with some I'm just acquaintances with, others are my friends, my two best friends participated. The curator was Al Vanegas, and the artists were:

Luz Colmenarez, María J. Luggo, Miday Espinoza, Cira Perdigón, Rosa Canelón, Johanna Juarez, Carly García y Mariette Putterman. Eight women for the 8th of March. 9th actually but on the 8th the city was so active and busy that we needed the 9th too.

And women should be recognized all year long, women's day commemorates a tragedy but it also empowers a fight that is not over yet, until we are all treated with equity.

The best part of an exhibition, specifically the inauguration day, is not seeing the art, it's actually getting to talk to people with the same interest as you, there is professional talk, you also get advice from people with more experience, and get to share your point of view. We also can like or dislike the things we talk about, and have a debate; teams form to help each other grow.

With that atmosphere, I took some photos to show you how it feels to be there.

El día de la mujer no es sólo un día...

El 9 de marzo fui a una exposición de arte, como lo hice el 8 de marzo, esta vez conocía a todas las artistas, algunas conocidas, otras son mis amigas, mis dos mejores amigas participaron. El curador era Al Vanegas, y las artistas eran:

Luz Colmenarez, María J. Luggo, Miday Espinoza, Cira Perdigón, Rosa Canelón, Johanna Juarez, Carly García y Mariette Putterman. Ocho mujeres para el 8 de marzo. El 9 en realidad, pero el 8 la ciudad estaba tan activa y ocupada que necesitábamos el 9 también.

Y las mujeres deberían ser reconocidas todo el año, el día de la mujer conmemora una tragedia pero también empodera una lucha que aún no ha terminado, hasta que todos seamos tratados con equidad.

Lo mejor de una exposición, concretamente el día de la inauguración, no es ver el arte, es poder hablar con gente que tiene el mismo interés que tú, hay charlas profesionales, también recibes consejos de gente con más experiencia, y puedes compartir tu punto de vista. También nos pueden gustar o no las cosas de las que hablamos, y tener un debate; se forman equipos para ayudarse mutuamente a crecer.

Con ese ambiente, he hecho algunas fotos para mostrarte lo que se siente al estar allí.
