If I Could Change One Thing in the World

The world is filled with tons of chaos, evil, and inhuman acts being inflicted on a daily basis, making it quite difficult to decipher who's who, who truly cares for you, and who's just pretending so they can be close enough to gain your trust and then cart away with your valuables. So if I ever had the power to change just one thing in this world, then I'd definitely be changing the way we humans treat each other.

Especially in areas such as kindness, empathy, and understanding, my belief is that many of these things going on in the world today are due to a lack of genuine love for our fellow humans, so having such a change of heart engraved in the heart of everyone, both in offices, schools, relationships, online, and even government, would go a long way in how people treat one another.

Our world is full of hate and despise for one another, and that's why you'll see many are quick to judge others without finding out what's going on or even envying others. People are slow to forgive but quick to make enemies. If we all took a pause to understand each other's situation, I'm certain there would have been a different reaction to situations. I've always tried to imagine how peaceful and different the world would look if we treated each other with genuine love, compassion, patience, and kindness.

I'm certain we won't have all the wars, insurgents, hate, and the like we see today. To put it straight, I'm talking about the kind of fake or shallow politeness we see in today's world. What I crave is deep and genuine kindness that brings about treating others with dignity regardless of where they're from, who they are, or what they believe.

Why I'm choosing this when there are several other things I can change is because when you trace the root of poverty, conflict, depression, discrimination, and the like, what you'll notice is that they're all due to a lack of empathy. You'll see people hoard resources while others are lacking; a typical example of that is the COVID relief material being carted away by some politicians. People speak hurtful words to others, probably because they don't know their words have the ability to break a soul. All of these are why I want to change this particular aspect of the world.

When we have a world where everyone truly cares for the others, education will become more inclusive, workplace environments will become healthier, and nations will negotiate with one another peacefully rather than waging war. Changing our ways of treating others is a strong foundation that'll shape the behaviors of coming generations, because when people feel respected, valued, and supported, they tend to flourish, and this goes on to influence the world at large into a flourishing world.

So just like I've been saying since, what I'll change about the world is how we treat ourselves, that's I'll plant kindness and empathy into the heart of everyone, and I'm sure that'll have a positive effect on the world at large.
