But this time, I want to take you on a different kind of adventure,, one that involves sweat, muffins, coffee... and a little heartbreak 😔

The Dragon Fruit Festival was buzzing,,
people everywhere, kids running, tita energy on full blast, and the food stalls? ABSOLUTE WAR ZONES.
Everywhere we looked: lines, more lines, and people holding pink smoothies we couldn't have. 😭

The common denominator? Dragon fruit products
Dragon fruit everything
Muffins, smoothies, coffee, even art displays.. If it didn’t have dragon fruit, it wasn’t welcome.

☕ FIRST STOP: CUP AND SLYCE CAFE

Our favorite. Our reliable. Our go-to.
They had dragon fruit smoothies and dragon fruit muffins..
But... the line? Unbearable. Like, you need to bring a chair and a snack while you wait for your snack 🤣,, it's unbearable

So with heavy hearts and hungry stomachs, we waved goodbye to our smoothie dreams and went off to look for Plan B

💡 PLAN B: GUIMAROAST CAFE

We spotted the stall from afar
The name? “Guimaroast Cafe” — a clever mix of Guimaras + Roast...
Genius... 10/10 for branding

There were only four teens in line, so we RAN (yes, RAN) and joined the queue 😆

Here’s what I wanted to order:
🥤 Dragon Fruit Frappe – because yeah, it's Dragon Fruit Festival

But plot twist: SOLD OUT. 💔😭

Apparently, we weren’t the only ones craving it.. Guess they underestimated the power of the pink fruit (or the size of our appetites)

🧁 WHAT I GOT INSTEAD

I didn’t leave empty-handed though. I got:

☕ Caramel Latte – sweet, creamy, and strong enough to wake up my inner morning person (even if it was 3pm). 😅

🧁 Pumpkin Spice Muffin – moist, lightly spiced, with melty chocolate chips. A hug in muffin form.

🧁 Chocolate Muffin – dark, rich, and topped with white and milk chocolate chips. Basically, a brownie pretending to be a muffin.

These were from the Guimaroast Cafe snack section — and I must say, no regrets. Even without the dragon fruit, these snacks were winners.

🧠 LESSONS FROM THE FEST

Get in line early or risk eating air 🙃

Dragon fruit products sell FAST – don’t wait until your 3rd lap around the stalls

Support local cafes like Cup and Slyce and Guimaroast. They’re doing great work even under pressure (and heat).

🌸 Despite the long lines and the tragic lack of dragon fruit smoothies/frappes, it was still a great experience. I mean, where else can you be surrounded by muffins, coffee, and a giant pink arch that screams “DRAGON FRUIT FESTIVAL YEAR 4”? 😉

This festival is still young, so things like this happen. Hopefully next year, there’ll be more stock, more stalls, and shorter lines (or at least some shade while we wait 😅).
