Day 3 of the "12 days of Christmas" Precious Metals Wishlist is here, and today I want to focus on some entry-level silver coins that are perfect for stacking or adding a touch of variety to your collection. So far, we’ve covered junk silver and generic bullion rounds, which are excellent starting points, but sometimes it’s nice to branch out into recognisable coins that carry a bit of collector appeal.

For me, nothing beats the appeal of North American silver coins. The Mexican Libertad and the American Silver Eagle are personal favourites. Their iconic designs, solid silver content, and global recognition make them perfect additions to any portfolio. I’ve already got a few in my collection, but I’d be lying if I said a few more wouldn’t make me very happy.

Of course, living in the UK comes with its challenges when collecting these coins. Due to shipping costs, import duties, and high premiums, North American coins tend to carry a heftier price tag than local options. But for those of us who appreciate both the beauty and security of a tangible, recognisable silver asset, it’s a small price to pay.

For anyone just getting started or looking to expand their stack, day 3’s wishlist is all about dipping your toes into internationally recognised silver coins. Whether you choose a Libertad or an Eagle, these coins are perfect for long-term holding, a little collector’s flair, and a solid way to diversify your precious metals collection.
