An Unforgettable Sunday: Lady Gaga Concert In Tokyo

Last month, my friends and I got so lucky we attended Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball concert in Tokyo!

It was an unforgettable day for me. I sooo like Lady Gaga. I love her songs, her vibrato, her personality, and her vibe! Don't you just think her voice is one of the best out there? I especially like Always Remember Us This Way along with a bunch of her songs.

A month before the concert, I was listening to her songs nonstop. Why? So I could sing along. 😂 That's how prepared I was.

But then, on that day, I lack sleep and my body was in low battery mode but when I was in the concert venue seeing all the people, it's as if the energy of the people revived me.

My friends and I met up at Ikebukuro around lunch time so we could have lunch together at Outback Steakhouse which I have shared in this post, before going to the concert.

After a sumptuous late lunch, we headed to the venue which was actually outside Tokyo. If I would be so technical about it, the concert hall is located in Saitama prefecture, in Belluna Dome which is around 40 mins away from Ikebukuro station.

While on the train, my friends and I were gossiping in our language (so people won't understand us) that maybe some of the train passengers were also going in the same direction as we were. It was so funny, someone talked to us and asked us if we were going to the concert. Turned out, he was half Filipino and he understood us when we were talking in Filipino. LOL Luckily, we didn't say anything bad during our gossip. 😅

There were so many people! Lady Gaga is quite famous in Japan. I'm just not sure if Japanese people understood her songs because they are all in English but who cares, she's amazing anyways. 😂 There were people wearing incredible clothes that really stood out. I wanted to take a photo with them but I was too shy to do so.

We went to buy merch. I mean, it's a concert! Japanese people love to buy merch whenever there's a concert. We're Filipinos but we were blending in with the crowd. 🤣 I wasn't really planning to buy one but the T-shirt looks awesome. In short, nabudol in our language.

I immediately changed T-shirts since the one I was wearing was not so concert looking. The queue in the women's toilet was too long though so my friend, Apple, kinda helped me change T-shirts while we were in one corner. It was kinda challenging but no one saw my naked body, whew!

We were seated in the arena, not too far from the stage. If we have a lot of money, we would really take the VIP seats near the stage. The VIPs got free merch from their ticket too so it would have been so awesome had we gotten those tickets.

Our chair wasn't so comfortable. It's kinda made for small people and as you know, I'm not that small. It was uncomfortable but it's okay, when Lady Gaga was performing, we would be standing anyways.

When Lady Gaga came out, everybody was shouting and cheering and so full of energy, including me of course! Her stage was really made perfect for her. She had a lot of costumes and all of them were so unique and so full of her personality. I think it also described the meaning of Chromatica Ball, the title of her concert.

It was kinda hot that day even when the Belluna Dome is an open-air concert hall. I guess because there were so many people, it was hot. Sometime during the performance, the stage near us were on fire and it added to the hotness. 😂 It was so fun because of the fire effects but at the same time, it was so hot.

She sang her popular songs, around 3 songs per part. There were 4 parts. She started with the famous song, Bad Romance, followed by Poker Face. These are her old but gold songs.

She also sang Sour Candy, which I really liked so much because this song was a collaboration between Gaga and Blackpink, my favorite K-Pop group. Blackpink didn't come to the concert though, too bad but it's okay.

Of course, she also sang mellow songs, my favorite songs Shallow and Always Remember Us This Way. She played the piano in the stage near we were seated! Too bad, she was facing the other way. So close yet so far. She sang an original song dedicated to America, and it was so heartfelt.

She ended the concert with the popular song, Rain On Me, though Ariana Grande wasn't on the guest list of Gaga's concert. 😅

Overall, the concert was so much fun. We were dancing the entire time, oh, scratch that, there were mellow songs, so it wasn't the entire time. 😅 We got ourselves a bracelet band that would light up sometime when she's performing and I took it home for remembrance of course.

When the concert ended, it was raining outside so we kinda stayed in the venue for a bit longer hoping the crowd would dissolved along with the rain. The train was still packed when we went out and felt like the train ride to Ikebukuro was more than an hour but we went home with smiles on our faces.

When I arrived home, I saw a video of Lady Gaga going out of the concert hall after her concert and greeting the people. Aaaaaarghh, we should have gone out early to meet her! 😵

It was really an unforgettable day. I hope she would come back to Tokyo. I'll surely attend her concert again, that is if I'll win the lottery again (to attend concerts in Japan, one should register and win the lottery).
