🧪 Experimental Fusion Omelet Recipe
🥚 Ingredients:
3 large eggs
1 tbsp oat milk (or any plant-based milk)
1 tsp miso paste
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp maple syrup
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ cup chopped kimchi (drained slightly)
¼ cup crumbled goat cheese or feta
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil or mint
Optional: crushed potato chips or crispy onions for topping
🧈 For the pan:
1 tbsp butter or neutral oil
🥄 Instructions:
Whisk the Base:
In a bowl, beat the eggs with oat milk, miso paste, soy sauce, maple syrup, and smoked paprika until smooth. This umami-sweet blend gives a rich flavor base.
Preheat the Pan:
Heat butter or oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat.
Add the Eggs:
Pour the egg mixture into the pan. Let it cook undisturbed for 20 seconds, then gently stir with a spatula, pulling cooked parts to the center.
Layer the Filling:
Once mostly set but still slightly wet on top, sprinkle in the chopped kimchi, crumbled cheese, and herbs on one side of the omelet.
Fold & Finish:
Fold the omelet in half and cook for another 30 seconds until the center is just set. Slide onto a plate.
Top It Off:
Garnish with crushed chips or crispy onions for texture.
🔬 Notes:
Want it sweeter? Add a drizzle of honey.
Prefer earthy flavors? Swap basil for cilantro and add a dash of curry powder.
This works great with leftover roasted veggies or even smoked salmon.
