The Blacksmith | Local Wisdom

Blacksmithing is a very old profession. Stories about experts making traditional iron tools such as hoes, knives, daggers, sickles, or even making weapons such as swords, machetes and so on have been legendary for a long time in all civilizations.

We even get stories from elders about civilizations that were skilled at making these things since the time of the Prophet David (King David).

This time I had the opportunity to visit one of the iron gilders who is quite popular around our area, namely a blacksmith from Karangtengah , Banteran village, Sumbang, Banyumas.

The story is, this morning I was asked to take my father to accompany him to the blacksmith to order a tool for weeding, which we call a mini hoe.
