Min Min-ki's special prosecutor team investigating the alleged collusion between the Unification Church and the People's Power on the 7th additionally indicted Kim Gun-hee on charges of violating the party law, indicating "support for Kwon Sung-dong member of the People's Power of the Unification Church" in the indictment. The special prosecutor also specified the number of Unification Koreans who joined the group just before the 2023 People's Power Representative Election at more than 2,400.

According to the indictment obtained by Kyunghyang Shinmun from the National Assembly on the 14th, Yoon Young-ho, the former head of the World Headquarters of the Unification Church, joined more than 2,400 people from November 1, 2022 to January 30, 2023. It was also specified by region, including about 350 people in Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces and 280 people in South Gyeongsang Province. It was ahead of the National Power Convention on March 8, 2023. The special prosecutor said in the indictment that the Unification Church made such a collective entry into the party because "Kim asked the Unification Church to help the election of the party leader and promised to give one seat of proportional representation to the Unification Church." It also pointed out that it was Kwon Sung-dong who asked for support in the party leadership race by Kim and Jeon Sung-bae, a health judge.
However, when Kwon declared that he would not run as the party's leader on Jan. 5, 2023, Jeon reportedly told Yoon, "The president told Kwon not to go out this time," and "Kim asked him to help because it was for the president anyway." Since then, when Kim Ki-hyun, a lawmaker of People's Power, registered as a candidate and the race was underway, Jeon asked Yoon to support Kim, and Yoon accepted it and spread it to the inside of the Unification Church. The special prosecutor's office said in the indictment that it ordered the chairman of each district to support Kim, not Kwon, but the members of the church who had joined the People's Power.
Earlier in October 2022, Jeon promoted the "Yoon Suk Yeol President Supporters' Movement," which includes 300,000 new members of the party in charge, aimed at "exercising the rights of the convention" and "winning the general election," according to the indictment. At the same time, Kim and Jeon conspired to receive support from the Unification Church for the election of a candidate who would reflect former President Yoon's intention in the People's Power Party leadership race.
On the 7th, the special prosecutor additionally indicted Kim, Jeon, Yoon, president of the Unification Church of Korean Studies, and his former chief of staff, identified only by his surname Jeong, on charges of violating the party law. They are accused of receiving a price for the purpose of electing former President Yoon and their supporting candidate in the March 8, 2023 People's Power Party leadership race, and promising to provide property benefits such as support for the Unification School policy and proportional representation of the National Assembly.
The special prosecutor suspects that the close relationship between the Unification Church and the Yoon Suk Yeol regime has deepened since the election of former President Yoon. It is believed that former Director Yoon created a "two-track" through First Lady Kim and Representative Kwon to access the Yoon administration. It is believed that First Lady Kim and Jeon shared the common perception that the Unification Church helped Yoon win the election in the 2022 presidential election and decided to maintain a smooth relationship with the Unification Church.

Rep. Kim Ki-hyun issued a statement on the 15th, saying, "I have nothing to do with the Unification Church, and I have never met with an executive of the Unification Church or talked on the phone before or after the national convention. I have never asked for support from the Unification Church, and I have never informed the Unification Church that it will support me." He also said, "It is absurd to say that only 2,400 people joined the party influenced the election."

It has been revealed that Kim Keon-hee asked the Unification Church to support Kweon Seong-dong at the party convention.
These people have truly been enemies of democracy.
They have dismantled and mocked the institutions we painstakingly built over decades in a single stroke.
There is not a single reason to tolerate them.
Those who defend them are also enemies of our democracy.
I sincerely hope they are brought to justice without delay.
