HiveFest 2024 in Split, Day 0: Strolling Around

So, Friday the 13th.
The boat trip was officially canceled and posponded to Sunday due to the storm. But for now, I see that the sun's rays have scattered the clouds, there's no wind, and the weather is perfect for a walk.
Out of a suddent, we found the best croissants I've ever had in my life at a modest local bakery near our apartment.
The time has flown by, and I still can't believe I've only been here for five days. These days have been so eventful!
The first day in Split greeted us with a downpour. But truth to be said, the Adriatic Sea looks beautiful to me in any weather.
After the rain, we had a relaxing stroll through the old town. This is one of the best moments of my travels when you just wander around without a purpose or route, allowing the city to guide you, revealing narrow stone streets, unexpected turns and branches, arches, terraces...
I miss Croatia and its Mediterranean cuisine, the best in the world. This is one of the reason why I am here. ☺️😋
It's great when there are three of you. You can try many different dishes. But I forgot how large their portions are!
An evening walk along the waterfront was the perfect ending to this incredible first day in Split.
Oh, wait!
Anyone want ice cream?
Ice cream is sold on every corner here. It seems like every third person I met was eating ice cream. There's no point in resisting the temptation when you're on vacation, right?
Spoiler: strawberry was the best!!! 😋
Cheers!
