SMNA Library – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A month ago, I goes to Kuala Lumpur for Hive Fest, and I really want to spare a day before the fest started. I eager to learn more about Kuala Lumpur. Of course..I did, as I have plenty of free time at the time. So, at least I could leisurely stroll around and find hidden gems.
A while before leaving to Kuala Lumpur, I search trend spots not far from Bukit Bintang. Honestly,, I want to go to Genting Highlands, but it was too far and I didn't have time. Turns out it is a goood decision!
However, this place is quite far from the city, even though I had to take the bus, and I had to get a tap 'n go card to get on the bus for 1 ringgit, but that was okay. As long as I could walk around and kill some boredom. After one bus stop and a long walk, I took a taxi and arrived. This place is on a hill, so I couldn't walk.

Even while in the taxi, the driver ask me where I want to go. Because he didn't know, or maybe he just didn't live near here. This is the home of a man who was once the second highest person to receive the title of PROFESSOR. Born in Bogor Indonesia, but actually a Malaysian.
He was a prolific writer who focus on Islamic theology. One of his most famous books is 'Islam and the Secular'. Apparently.. that made him very famous, and his books are still in demand today. But who would have thought that a prolific writer could build a house and even a library like this?

Honestly, nowadays, if someone own a property like this, they would definitely be incredibly rich, a billionaire, and someone of high standing. In fact, just look in at the architecture alone, it wasn't built haphazardly. I focused on one place: the library owned by Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas (SMNA).

The architectural style is Western European, but it incorporates other characteristics that adapt to the tropical style. But, I even thought this place was the home of a state official or something similar to a kingdom. It's so big, I even wanted to go to the library and got lost. But upon arriving at the library, I was truly amazed by SMNA's extensive collection. They have a huge collection, and one more thing: they have exquisite taste. You know, if someone has exquisite taste, they're definitely not just anyone.

I really enjoyed this place. Besides being free for everyone, it's also clean and beautiful, and I should be able to sit for a while browsing through the old books in their collection and reading them. This place is designed for quiet reading.
See you the next time hive friends!

Hi! Let me introduce myself, its me Wita. I'm usually very interested in new things. Let me be creative with at least these writings. I welcome any suggestions, as long as you mention them politely in the comments section. We can have a free discussion every now and then.
Don't think too much of me as you see in my posts. I'm just sharing what I have, and some of it is actually quite enjoyable to post. It's just that I don't really like posting bad things. I hope we continue to work together to build this Hive community. You can find me on my various social media platforms:
I'm just a woman who wants to write whatever's on my mind. I really enjoy cooking, occasionally traveling, and doing whatever I like. I want to live like a bird flying freely in nature. But I know I'm only human. So, I can only write freely like a bird that can fly with its two wings.
