keep it simple smarty…
“Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum) is a fruit-bearing evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. Rambutan grows best in tropical climates and yields edible fruit. This species attracts bees and other pollinators and its fruit has a pleasant aroma.”
the soft, sweet, gelatinous flesh inside is husked by a “hairy” part, which lends itself to one of its nick-names of: “hairy lychee”
the fruit has one large seed/pit to it! 🌱
when i shared these photographs with my granddaughter, she said that “it looks like a little egg” what do you all think? 🧐
i bought a produce-bag full roadside walking the highway back to the apartment near the banks of the Río Barú on Dominical, Costa Rica
i paid 1,000 colones / $1.50 usd
have you eaten lychee before? or, is it just a given that at certain Seasons, you will be eating lychee?
thanks for your time and attention!
…and, much love 💗 and respect ✊ for all each of us does and is!
