And for the last batch of my run of four wins at the auction house... two old silver coins! I'm really up in the air as to whether I like the new shinies with their amazing designs and sparkling silver gleaming finishes... or these old tarnished and dirty pieces with so much history behind them. Its a bit of a..... coin toss!!!!! BLAM!!!

Anyway, now that that is out the way... the first piece in this two piece lot is a 1879 Austrian Florin with a pretty nicely well defined front to it. Not crazily high quality, but pretty damn decent for the price that I paid... and it sits in at roughly 12 grams of 0.9 silver content.

... and the reverse head side is also looking pretty okay for the age as well. Of course, you can get ones that are much much nicer... but with the attendant price tag!

Meanwhile, the second coin is a great deal more worn... being a 19th century Great Britain Gothic Florin of 0.925 silver content, and weighing in at roughly 10 grams. So, quite a bit missing on this one... with only a little section retaining any clarity at all in the design.

... and the head side is pretty much all gone!

But still, the win was still worth it considering that it was a pretty stinky bid that I had put on it. And these two old coins were more like the icing on the cake and the cherry on the top of a week with four different lots being won in the auction round! No complaints on my end!
