Hey dear Hive friends, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you are all well and your day was full of positive experiences! In this post, I would like to discuss an interesting historical topic and hope you can expand your knowledge a little.

You can see here pictures of a wind and water mill which I created with the help of artificial intelligence and specifically I would like to go into how the technology of the mills was used to produce electricity from it. The general history of the mills can already be traced back thousands of years and in 1826 the French engineer Benoît Fourneyron (1802 - 1867) achieved one of the most important milestones with the invention of the first water turbine and in the 19th century, more and more owners began to rebuild their mills for these purposes. In 1866, the well-known inventor Werner von Siemens (1816 - 1892) invented a generator with which it was possible to convert the energy generated by the water turbine into electric energy and a few years later the first milestones were also achieved when it comes to power generation by wind. The Scottish inventor James Blyth (1839 - 1906) is considered one of the first pioneers in the field of power generation by wind and in 1887 he managed for the first time to generate electricity with the help of a wind turbine with which it was possible to light up light bulbs and the Danish inventor Poul la Cour (1846 - 1808) is also known to have created some innovations in this area. Poul la Cour saw in windmills a kind of power plant with which it was possible to produce large amounts of energy and he also saw that with strong wind conditions the mills could not use all of the energy and a lot is wasted and this fact he made use of and was of great importance for his experiments in the field of aerodynamics. Over the years, these methods of power generation by mills spread more and more through different countries and more and more mill owners made use of these techniques and rebuilt their mills and it quickly enjoyed growing popularity.
