, and his arguments were as convincing as his proposal was attractive.As the cherry on top, I also received an invitation from the youngest member of the house, my little sister @mariatd, so I gladly accept this task of revealing a little, or a lot (we'll see) of myself through colors. To be completely honest, I must confess that none of the three labels is my favorite color, but two of them "scream" at me; they have nothing to do with my personality, so I'll leave them alone. Blue, on the other hand, shares that cool palette that I so appreciate in green, my favorite color. I also have a history with blue, so blue label will do for today.
Generally speaking, blue is a color that inspires tenderness, calm, and a gentle state of contentment in its lighter shades; while the shades between flag and Prussian convey a sense of understated elegance, authority, and empowerment.
Dress any girl or boy in blue; they'll look like a princess or a prince. And how attractive a man looks in a combination of its various shades. I like to dress in intense shades of blue; I think they highlight my dark eyes and eyebrows.
But fashion aside, I mentioned at the beginning that I have stories with this color; I'll share them with you if you'll allow me.
As a child, I suffered through my parents' divorce. I was about seven years old, and my love for my dad was too big for my little chest. Those who read my posts have a good idea of what I'm talking about.
It wasn't an amicable divorce, and between the loss and the arguments, I was confused, extremely sad, and distracted in the classroom.
My teacher Raquel, an excellent educator and person, would have me draw when I felt I couldn't handle the pressure of the class. Among the crayons she gave me, there was a pastel blue, a sky blue, and a calm blue.
At the time, I didn't understand why I was so drawn to that particular crayon, but I must have used it a lot because I soon ran out. Luckily, there were more where that one came from, and I was able to continue, I know now, drawing my escape worlds of serenity and security amidst my real chaos.
The blue, unknowingly, saved me. Today I want to thank it.
However, not all of my blue memories are sad or serious.
I remember, for example, one of a friend from college, crazy, naive, kind, one of those delightfully crazy, unfiltered people who live and express themselves authentically, truly.
Marilín's favorite color was indeed blue, but she always pointed out that it was "not just any blue, but kitten blue." Kelly and I, her best friends, would burst out laughing because where else would Marilin have seen a blue cat? But we actually understood the concept. She was referring to the tenderest shade of blue, one as tender as the image of a kitten, because for her, "sky blue" wasn't enough to express what she felt when she saw that color. Mary knew what she was talking about, and so did we. Thus, the term "kitten blue" was forever coined.
There are words that resonate on blue strings, aren't there? Have you seen them too? And I'm not talking about the sky, the sea, or beautiful eyes, but about more incorporeal concepts.
Wednesday is blue, as are innocence, joy, and chaste kisses. My calm flows in blue, and my senses are tinged with blue when I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Now that I think about it, there isn't enough "blue" in the world. What a timely initiative this is, allowing me to reflect on this and share it with you.

y sus argumentos fueron tan convincentes como atractiva su propuesta.Como cereza en el pastel me llegó además la invitación de la más pequeña de casa, mi hermanita @mariatd, así que me rindo gustosa a esta tarea de develarme un poco o un mucho (ya se verá) a través de los colores. Invito además a @dulcekpricho y @abelarte quienes sé que no temen abrir su bonito mundo interior a los amigos.
Para ser muy sincera debo confesar que ninguna de las tres etiquetas es mi color favorito pero dos de ellas me "chillan" en los ojos, no tienen nada que ver con mi personalidad y por eso las dejo tranquilas a un lado. El azul en cambio comparte esa gama fría que tanto aprecio en el verde, mi color favorito. Además tengo historia con el azul, así que etiqueta azul será por hoy.
De manera general el azul es un color que me inspira ternura, calma y un suave estado de satisfacción en sus tonos más claros; mientras los tonos entre bandera y prusia me transmiten una sensación de elegancia sobria, de autoridad y empoderamiento.
Viste a cualquier niña o niño de azul, se verán como princesa y príncipe. Y qué atractivo luce un hombre con una combinación de sus varios tonos. A mí me gusta vestir en gamas intensas del azul, creo que resaltan mis ojos y cejas oscuros.
Pero moda aparte, les comentaba al principio que tengo historias con este color, voy a compartírselas si me lo permiten.
De niña sufrí el divorcio de mis padres, yo tendría unos siete años y el amor por papi no me cabía en mi pequeño pecho, quienes siguen mis post tienen una idea de lo que hablo. No fue un divorcio amistoso y entre la pérdida y las contiendas yo andaba confundida, sumamente triste y distraída en el aula.
Mi maestra Raquel, una pedagoga y persona excelente me ponía a dibujar cuando sentía que yo no podía con la presión de la clase. Entre las crayolas que me daba había una azul pastel, azul cielo, azul calma.
En aquel momento yo no entendía por qué me atraía tanto esa crayola en particular pero debo haberla usado mucho porque pronto se me acabó. Por suerte había más de donde salió aquella y pude seguir, hoy lo sé, dibujando mis mundos-escape de serenidad y seguridad en medio de mi caos real.
El azul, sin saberlo, me salvó. Hoy quiero agradecerle.
Sin embargo no todos mis recuerdos azules son tristes o graves. Guardo, por ejemplo, el de una amiga en la Universidad, alocada, ingenua, bondadosa, de esas personas deliciosamente disparatadas, sin filtro, que viven y se expresan auténticas, reales.
El color favorito de Marilín era, en efecto el azul, pero ella siempre acotaba que "no cualquier azul, sino el azul gatito" Kelly y yo, sus mejores amigas, nos desternillábamos de la risa porque ¿dónde habría visto Marilín un gato azul? Pero en realidad comprendíamos el concepto. Se refería al tono más tierno de azul, a uno tan tierno como la imagen de un gatito porque a ella el "azul cielo" no le bastaba para expresar lo que sentía a la vista de ese color. Mary sabía de lo que hablaba, y nosotras también. Así quedó acuñado el término "azul gatito" para siempre.
Hay palabras que resuenan en cuerdas azules, ¡¿a que sí?! ¿ustedes también las han visto? Y no hablo del cielo, el mar o unos hermosos ojos, sino a conceptos más incorpóreos.
El miércoles es azul, como lo son la inocencia, la alegría, los besos castos, mi calma fluye en azul y de azul se tiñen mis sentidos cuando siento la presencia del Espíritu Santo.
Ahora que lo pienso, no hay suficiente "azul" en el mundo. Qué oportuna iniciativa esta que me permitió reflexionar al respecto y compartirlo con ustedes.
