Meet Empress - A little about me

Hello everyone,

So this is my first official post on Hive and I’m a bit nervous about how I’ll do, and I’ve been thinking hard on how to start this introductory post.

Okay... my name is Empress (yeah, that’s my real name, just in case you’re wondering. My parents didn’t come to play). I’m from Nigeria, Delta state, and the third child of my parents. I have lot of siblings actually but my love is big and large enough for all of them.

I’m 17 years old and currently in my first year, studying Economics in the University. It’s actually a mix about numbers, theories, demands, supplies, and moments where I stare at the ceiling all day wondering what the hell is going on.

Outside the world of figuring out unending equations, I drown myself deep in the world of K-dramas (watching K-dramas is more than a hobby for me – maybe even an addiction), where I obsess over men who doesn’t know I exist. I’m also a fan of k-pop, I stan various groups I come across whenever I do my research and get to love their members. I’m a huge fan of the group BTS, it’s a famous group known worldwide, they paved the way (so I’ve come to think). Their songs makes me feel seen and its funny how I get to understand them when they speak their native language (Hanguel). Truthbomb: I’m learning to speak Korean, and it’s going well so far.

When I’m not watching K-dramas or listening to K-pop songs, I’m reading – especially books that pulls me in deep and leave my feelings in a mess.

I’m a bit socially inept, that is to say. During my junior years in school, I often got picked on by people I called my classmates because of my size. I thought maybe if I stayed longer, they’ll get used to me and well, the bullying would stop. I got to my senior year, and things still remained the same. But then, this new student transferred to our school and she was just like me. We shared the same interest, hobbies and stature, lol. And we became close friends.

I don’t have much talent, but one thing I know – I’m a great writer. I have some drafts of my own, but none have been published or uploaded yet. But I hope to share some here on Hive.
