I have been been navigating the complexities that comes with being a part of hive blog for awhile now, it has been a beautiful ride so far but not without it challenges. The most amazing thing about being a hive blogger is, the more consistent you are in creating content and engaging, the more familiar you get with some necessary tools that will make navigating hive blog less complex.
For users who haven't really had time to go through the basics of what blockchain technology, crypto currency or Web3 is all about, navigating hive blog might be a struggle. I have been there before and I can tell you, I wouldn't call it a pleasant experience in those days, it was indeed a struggle. But then, hive blog is a pool of knowledge, Like I said earlier, the more you make use of hive blog the more familiar you get with some tools. Example of such tools is ecency.
I don't even know where to start commending the ecency team for their consistent effort in making sure users have the best blogging experience possible. Getting on board on hive blog, my first issue was how to keep track of my activities, E.g Comments, mentions e.t c keeping track of comments can be a little difficult at times, when everything kind of just happens at once.
But then I stumbled upon ecency, I am more familiar with the ecency app than the website, due to my consistency in its usage, which means I will be talking more about the ecency app and its features.

The moment I turn on my mobile data, if there was any form of activity I might have missed while I was offline, I immediately get pop-up notification for every single one of it, it all comes rushing in like waves.
This makes it a lot easier to keep track of it, which includes curation, comments, fav. Author post e.t.c Speaking of fav. Author's post, it is a feature on ecency. It allows you to keep track of specific author's post you are in interested in.
The moment you click on the fav. icon on the top - right corner of the author's profile page, you will start getting notification anytime the author makes a post.
Though you could also bookmark specific post you like and with the ecency app, you can always easily frequently visit your fav. Author and bookmark post list at your own convenience.
Just by clicking on your avatar image at the at the top - left corner of your ecency app, some options will pop up, you will find it there.
Do you know you can apply extra security layers on ecency app? I mean using pin, face ID and fingerprint. The same way it is available on various web2 apps, it also exist within the ecency app.

All you have to do is click on settings, then you can turn on the security mood, applying any method of security you prefer.
We are all aware of how difficult it is becoming to keep our account safe, this is just another form of precaution, so that no one would have access to your ecency app without your knowledge and start doing God knows what. This way you will be able to keep your account under lock and key, it sounds cool right? I'm just getting started.
One of the common issues newbies experience is markdowns usage, markdown text sometimes looks like cow vermin in the eyes of people like me with no experience whatsoever with any form of coding, you know what I'm saying? But on hive blog, you would have to make use of it over time to beautify your post, make it look more professional.
The editing tools on ecency app is user friendly, imputing of images does not need any special procedures. You could even save your frequently used images within the ecency app, e.g image dividers. You don't have to always go through your gallery to search for it, when it is saved, you can have access to it anytime you are in need of it.

All you have to do is, click on the gallery icon 🖼️, then the {+}, it will lead you to your gallery, select the image and just like that the image will be saved up on the list. If you want to remove the saved image, just follow the same process but this time you will click on {-} and select whatever image you want to delete from the list.
Most newbies tends to have issues performing transactions, especially when it comes to converting HBD to hive, vice - versa. I have heard of people transferring HBD to exchanges and end up losing their assets. Do you know you can also swap your HBD to hive and hive to HBD within the ecency app or website?

All you have to do is click on the wallet icon, select the one you want to convert, HBD or hive. Select swap token {if you are using the inbuilt ecency security layer to protect your account, it will ask you to input your pin or fingerprint to unlock}, then you can proceed to inputting the amount you want to swap, click on next, then confirm. It is done instantly.
You can also keep track of your tokens within the ecency app, it displays every basic details you need to know about your hive layer 2 token that you have accumulated.

, it is just like creating tweets or threads on X. You get to publish your pictures, have fun and also earn in the process. It is like a mini blog. You can access waves through the Ecency app and website or download the ecency waves app.
One of the reasons why I enjoy using the ecency app is because it is less complex and easy to use, everything you need is in one place. And if you encounter any issue making use of any of the features, don't hesitate to slide into ecency discord server to complain or report any activity, ecency team response to any form of complain is swift.
