Road trip to the medieval village of Castello di Cireglio, part two (ENG/ESP) 💓💓

Good evening, blog friends, here I am again to tell you about my trip to Castello di Cireglio, a delightful village nestled among acacia and chestnut woods in the Pistoia mountains, with a winding road leading there. I'd already talked about the first part of my trip; you can find the post here:

We had reached the point where we entered the village and then headed toward the center, where the singers awaited us with Tuscan and Argentinean folk songs. Walking through the village, in addition to its beauty, we found a beautiful tower with a bell tower, likely the remains of an old church now attached to a shared dwelling. Let's hope the bells don't ring, otherwise they'd reverberate throughout the small village. It's a tower with a so-called sail-shaped structure, used in ancient times to help orient pilgrims traveling the Via Francigena, which this village is part of. It's a very pretty bell tower and is just a stone's throw from the main square. The village itself has medieval origins, and its streets and stone houses hark back to ancient times. It was probably not a well-known destination, but not entirely unknown either, as it is located on one of Tuscany's most famous pilgrimage routes, still in use today for lovers of walking and trekking.

Aquí estoy de nuevo para contarles sobre mi viaje a Castello di Cireglio, un encantador pueblo enclavado entre bosques de acacias y castaños en las montañas de Pistoia, con una sinuosa carretera que lleva hasta allí. Ya les hablé de la primera parte de mi viaje; pueden encontrar la publicación aquí:

Llegamos al punto de entrada del pueblo y nos dirigimos al centro, donde nos esperaban los cantantes con canciones populares toscanas y argentinas. Paseando por el pueblo, además de su belleza, encontramos una hermosa torre con campanario, probablemente los restos de una antigua iglesia ahora adosada a una vivienda compartida. Esperemos que las campanas no suenen, si no, resonarían por todo el pequeño pueblo. Se trata de una torre con una estructura en forma de vela, utilizada en la antigüedad para orientar a los peregrinos que recorrían la Vía Francígena, de la que forma parte este pueblo. Es un campanario muy bonito y está a tiro de piedra de la plaza principal. El pueblo en sí tiene orígenes medievales, y sus calles y casas de piedra evocan tiempos antiguos. Probablemente no era un destino muy conocido, pero tampoco del todo desconocido, ya que se encuentra en una de las rutas de peregrinación más famosas de la Toscana, aún hoy en día utilizada por los amantes del senderismo.

When we reached the main square, a charming little square surrounded by colorful houses with a large courtyard set up with chairs so even the older ones could listen to the folk songs, we stood and waited for the singers to arrive. They were a wonderful couple who sang various folk songs and told stories, with unique talent, especially the female voice of Giuditta Scorcelletti, brilliant and enchanting. This was the perfect village to perform folk songs; you can see and listen to it in the video I've uploaded at the bottom of the post.

After listening to the group, we stopped at the village's delightful bar, a clean and charming place ideal for an aperitif or dinner. Finally, we returned home in the evening, enjoying the scenic drive back, which was as beautiful as the outward journey but even more captivating with the evening colors. It was a beautiful day, and I was happy to have discovered this small but charming village, a true gem in the Pistoia mountains.

Al llegar a la plaza principal, una encantadora placita rodeada de casas coloridas con un amplio patio acondicionado con sillas para que incluso los mayores pudieran escuchar las canciones populares, nos quedamos esperando a que llegaran los cantantes. Eran una pareja maravillosa que cantaba diversas canciones populares y contaba historias, con un talento único, especialmente la voz femenina de Giuditta Scorcelletti, brillante y encantadora. Este era el pueblo perfecto para interpretar canciones populares; pueden verlo y escucharlo en el video que subí al final de la publicación.

Después de escuchar al grupo, paramos en el encantador bar del pueblo, un lugar limpio y encantador, ideal para tomar un aperitivo o cenar. Finalmente, regresamos a casa por la noche, disfrutando del pintoresco camino de regreso, tan hermoso como el de ida, pero aún más cautivador con los colores del atardecer. Era un día precioso, y me alegré de haber descubierto este pequeño pero encantador pueblo, una verdadera joya en las montañas de Pistoia.
