When I joined my first company soon completeing my higher degree, I found myself in darkworld. Unable to figure out what to do and how to proceed with my task. The first job alwsys leave a mark that give you shiver for ages, and it was rightly happened to me. I was one of the bright student in school getting good grades in my subject, but when it comes to real world application, I was clueless with the process and the system. It was only then I realized that what we taught in academics was completelly different when it comes to practical application. It was like, saying is easy but doing is much harder.

Practical application translates theoretical knowledge into "how-to" skills, enabling individuals to perform tasks and solve problems in real-world scenarios. When a person is exposed to practical application, there are more chances to learn. In a newly web series #HalfCA, the importance of practical application is beautifully explained to most of the aspiring CA (chartered accountant - one of the prestigious education degree in India). During the tenure of this course, students have to undergo certain month of #articleship. Where the student were suppose to work with a qualified CA to gain experience. It is not a high paying job, but it does help the students to learn many minute detail about their subject. In the series it was shown that a student, who take dummy (as fake aeticleship certificate of work from CA) for such articleship is lower in aubject knowledge than a person who exposed themselves to real world of practicality. The real practical scenarios is completelly differrnt from what it perceived to be while we were studying. But if we see the broader, it is always the learning during the course of studies that were applied logically in the practical application.

A question to answer

We all know that a 'dozen' contains 12 quantity, but why only 12 ? Why It can not be 15 or 10 or any other figure?

We never bothered to figured it out, during our schooling days, nor even after year of studies. We were just taught so and we grasped it forever.

The real implication of studies happen when we understand the facts clearly. But not many of us get deeper in exploring the depth of the studies. We like simple things in life, and focus on getting the passing mark. I have seen kids only wanted to secure the marks rather than understanding concept clearly of their subject. In todays time, we have so many means, where a student could explore and understand every aspect. Mere blaming the current education system is not going to do wonder neither to kids nor to the society.

Unclocking door of freedom

A education degree is still important in 2025 as a foundation for formal knowledge and credibility, but it has to be increasingly paired with demonstrable skills and practical experience for career success. Like in the case of a Chartered accountatlnt degree. Where a student has to go through rigrous phase of learning in articleship. It was like casting an iron into Gold. The job market values continuous learning, adaptability, and the ability to solve problems. For many roles, especially in tech, employers like Google and Tesla now prioritize skills over traditional degrees, seeking proof of ability through portfolios or certifications. The key is to blend formal education with ongoing skill development to stay competitive. Hands-on experience, even through side projects or volunteering, is highly valued for developing in-demand skills.

Education helps you develop necessary skills, create life strategies, and gain expertise to achieve major life goals. Investing in academic research and studies can create more career options and benefit future professional endeavors. I have seen some great example in my family. Where prioritizing studies over other things, helps them secure good opportunities. The job market is ideal position for such candidate. My neice were successfully placed in Big 4 after securing degree and much needed skill for such position.

In my perspective, the most successful path forward in 2025 involves combining formal education with a commitment to lifelong skill development. This creates a powerful combination for building a relevant and fulfilling career.

In good faith - Peace!!
