On Parasites 🐜🦂🦟 and free energy aka Countryside Living vs. City Life

Scorpions, spiders, ants,

wasps, mosquitoes and gnats

mice and rats...

You will find plenty of all of these creepy crawling critters and bugging, flying pests, out here in the (Italian) countryside.

And let’s be fair, it’s probably one of the reasons why many people (think they) prefer city life over ‘living in the woods’.

@clareartista and I are different though.

Yeah, the two of us still get annoyed by pests

when they crawl over our plates that we thought we had washed or devour the remainder of our meal that we were looking forward to eat.

They also bite and sting us whenever they get a chance ( especially in these Summer months ) and sometimes keep us awake or wake us up, when we’re trying to rest. But – in all honesty – cities are filled with parasitic energy and parasites in all shapes and forms.

From the inescapable/ever present mass media to governments, noises, artificial lights, chemicals and even the sheer amount of people that are draining (y)our life force.

It’s hard work, to live in a city. Hard work in the disguise of comfort ( for those rich enough to pay for that ).

Clare and I weren't 'rich' enough, felt drained by.the system and couldn't live the (free) life we were looking for. It led to us emigrating from the Northern European countries we were born in, years ago. The two of us finally met up 11 months ago, fell in love and recently left the city for the countryside.

Despite all, most city people think they’re better off out there and don’t want to trade places with people like us, who are living in the countryside.

It’s hard work too, in the countryside
and yet, it isn’t.

more on the latter in Clare's posts

To give you an idea...

We have to drive or walk to the city to get our groceries.

We don’t have running water nor electricity.

We don't have wifi ( a conscious choice ).

We hand wash our clothes.

And so on and so forth.

But what we do have, is a powerbank that we can charge up by using solar power aka sunshine. Or, while driving, by using the car battery.

*It’s charging up in the sun, while I write this. Zoom in on the top photo to see it in action on our terrazzo.

We also have a solar shower that we filled with mountain water. Amazingly cool and tasty drinking water that we collected at a nearby fountain, earlier today.

The solar shower, with 20 liters of water in it, is warming up in the sunshine, right this moment and we'll hang it underneath one of our beautiful walnut trees to enjoy a warm shower, later.

In short, we get our energy from the elements and are free from contracts with so called ‘energy’ companies who make it seem like they do the work for us but drain us, over time (like the system tends to do).

It feels right and it's only the beginning of our journey on our new homestead.

A plot of land with plenty of olive- , fruit and nut trees, as well as mature wood land. With only a basic brick building on it, constructed on top of old stables.

I recently bought this, by selling most of my Bitcoin for a price that people in my motherland, The Netherlands, would probably spend on paying one year of rent.

It's the best investment of my life (and so was/is Bitcoin).

What about you? Do you prefer the city over the countryside or vice versa?

Are you willing to do the dishes twice because of ants in all sizes are crawling over them (because they smell the faintest trace of food ) and or do them without warm/running water?

Are you able to do a number 2 in the garden/woods with the chance of finding a scorpion underneath every stone you lift (to cover your poo) and it being likely that you’re stung by mosquitoes, ants and or spiders while you relieve yourself?

Do you mind camping (in your own garden)?

Are you willing to have to go into town for wifi?

Or, in other words:

How important are your time and energy for you?

Do you spend more than you save?
Do you pay an insane electricity bill?
Do you have a mortgage on your house that is slowly strangling you and makes you worried about what to do when you lose your job?
Are you dependent on a future pension that you might never receive?

Are you investing in Bitcoin, yet?

I tend to convert Hive for Bitcoin, regularly.

Not a popular opinion on here but hey, I have still invested more in Hive than I earned on here and look where it got me?

I now own my own land!

Are you willing to trade your so called comfort for time?

and unlock natural energy, instead of having to rely on caffeine, sugar, supplements, entertainment and the like?

Are you willing to spend less and save more and experience abundance instead of scarcity?

In short, are you willing to change your mindset and your life or do you prefer to stay in what you think is your comfort zone?

There’s always a choice.

It’s up to you to take the plunge or not.

It's not easy but I promise you it's worth it :^)
