"The shockingly poor standards of Yoon Suk-yeol and the People Power Party."

While former President Yoon Suk Yeol mentioned former People's Power Representative Han Dong-hoon and others during last year's Armed Forces Day meeting, Kwak Jong-geun, former commander of the Army Special Warfare Command, said he would "kill them with a gun," a spokesman for People's Power defended former President Yoon with the intention of "something to say as a joke."
Lee Joon-woo, spokesman for People's Power, appeared on YTN radio's "Kim Joon-woo's News Head-to-head Match" on the evening of the 3rd and said, "I heard you brought this up for the first time today, but if you say so, it's hard to get credibility," but added, "Don't you talk about this kind of thing a lot even when you're friends? Even if you don't talk about the gun, you're really going to die." Even if it is assumed that former President Yoon made such a statement, he may not have said it seriously considering the feasibility.
On this day, former commander Kwak appeared as a witness in the trial of former President Yoon's rebellion leader held at the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Department 25 (Judge Ji Gwi-yeon) hearing and testified, "He called some politicians and told them to catch him in front of you," adding, "You said, 'I'll kill you by shooting.' Former commander Kwak said that former President Yoon's remarks came from a meeting with military commanders on the Armed Forces Day on October 1 last year. It is two months before the December 3 civil war broke out.
The lawyers for former President Yoon said in a notice after Kwak's testimony, "It is not true at all. Former President Yoon has never said such a thing."
Spokesperson Lee said, "There are times when neighbors fight (about dying). There are times when we actually fight, we can make jokes, and since it has to be completely separated from what came out of that context, I think we should focus on the position that the president has said and examine the facts." He also claimed, "If (former commander Kwak) himself is in a position of being at a disadvantage, if he is in a corner, he can make up things that he didn't say in order to deflect it, and defend himself."

"Whether it's someone threatening to shoot and kill a former close aide just because they were drunk, or the People Power Party trying to brush it off as casual talk between friends — it's utterly repulsive. I sincerely hope they are held accountable as soon as possible."
