What I may have neglected to mention about Lila, is that she is technically a rescue as well. The "caretaker" (used loosely) of her Mama, sent me a message saying that if i didn't take her, she would be tying her into a sack and toss her out on the other side of town. There was a brother puppy who some neighbors had already "adopted" him when he was still little. But they immediately began chasing away the mother when she would visit to give him teta, milk. He disappeared and I assume he died.

I delayed the woman, telling her that I would come as soon as possible to take Lila home... So that she could stay with her Mama and drink her milk for as long as possible. And when I brought her home, she drank fresh cow's milk and goat milk mixed with some kibble for the first few weeks. She's a big, strong, healthy girl!

And on to the latest happenings and Our New Chapter. One of my worst fears came to pass but also simply passed without drama or trouble. My adoptive niece wanted to stay the night away from either of her parents, at my cabin. Actually she initially said one week and then, "at least five days."

At first we were having a blast together and then we went to bed. The morning was very nice as well, until Nena got some "cute agression," feelings towards Lovey. She just wanted to hug his head... But it startled him and he snarled at her and scared her badly. But not badly enough.

She did it again a little while later. I see myself in her very much. I identify strongly with the way that her energetic system moves and those moments of almost overpowering floods of positive emotion, such as "cute aggression."

I got over the self-judgement and was able to reject fully the repugnant labeling and "diagnoses". For now i won't go off about the vile shaming rituals and brainwashing of psychiatric "diagnosis." I'll tell you about one part of how. One of my best friends began to acknowledge me in a wildly powerful way, without really understanding it himself. I love him so much that when we hug it is almost too intense for my body and I shake with the power of it. I've been able to train myself to manage this by sharing it. I open my heart center and let it flow out, so that i don't feel like my physical body is going to explode. But i never told that to him or to anybody else. (This is true with anybody who I feel strongly about)

Okay.. So his part was that he began requesting it. We were in a band together. Those were some of the best times of my life. When he would get an attack of nerves before going on stage, he began pulling me into whatever somewhat private place where we could have a moment and he'd say, I need you to do that thing that you do where you radiate all that intense love and goodness into me. It calms me and makes me strong and I need it before I can go on stage." So he felt it. It wasn't my imagination. I wouldn't have cared much, if it were only something that I feel...Because it works for me, so it would be good enough. But he feels it to. Interesting.

I've always believed, but also always gone in and out of strong doubts. Sometimes I've lived long periods of holding dualities and sometimes feeling rather conflicted. I've long been aware of how cognitive dissonance works, and we'll i suppose a part of it, is that it often resides in our blind spots.

Sweet Nena, with the best of intentions and all love, got hurt by Lovey dog. Thankfully it was only a not-so-deep scratch from his tooth. But it terrified the both of us. Although this brave little girl shed but a few tears and she is already starting to forgive him. We spoke honestly about how she wanted me to deal with him and whether she believes that he will become better and better at being with people and also a lot about safety in interacting with ALL dogs. She was adamant that no matter what, "killing dogs is bad." And her mama said, "if she's okay, don't worry. These are things that happen in childhood. They're both learning."

Back to the here and now. No person is a monolith. The very fact that we all have blind spots is one of the things that gives such great value to interpersonal relationships. What Lovey, Lila and I have stepped into in this new chapter, are developing some of the most healthy and healing relationships. Our new family of the heart are people with similar and yet complimentary traumas and defense structures. And with a shared commitment to Introspection, and opened to constructive criticism, we can protect one another and grow.. Facing our challenges and pushing ourselves and one another lovingly with sensitivity and so much sweetness. I can hear it and take it when they tell me, "not this guy either. He's another one who wants to take advantage. You still see only the best. But trust us because we love you and value you so much and we can't afford to lose you." Ok

And Lovey? Well he's been free, untied for a day and a half now since we moved our life officially to the new place where will be living and are building our Ecoalea/ ecovillage. I thought that we would have to wait until i could build for Lovey, a fenced in area. But his two new best human friends convinced me that he will be fine and only behave better and better.

And so far, so good. I've felt for a long time that it would be profoundly healing for Lovey, to live in a place with no memories or associations with his former life. Imagine, at my house, the humans who used to torture him are still present on a regular basis. He can see them, hear them and smell them next door. I was able to see distinctly his anxiety, especially in the musculature of his face and also his whole body...

On the one hand, he was becoming more and more relaxed, confident, happy and calm. But then still suffering on the other hand, with those particular stimuli.

Here, now, he is spending almost all of his time laying at my side by the fire. There are two other dogs who were all but abandoned here. Burzia is the big girly and it's been mildly challenging with her. But that's already improving quickly. And the little black fuzzball is "Sunny."

Yesterday Burzia was tied and still is for now.. But she broke loose at one point and was a bit aggressive toward Lila. Lila ran and got behind Lovey who was still tied because we had just arrived. But he still chased off Burzia and has felt suspicious toward her, reasonably, until this morning..

This morning i worked on showing them that Bursts is also my friend and is trustworthy and after a few visits with her, Lovey began ignoring us rather than trying to get between me and Burzia growling at her.

Burzia is getting some treatment now, for some little wounds and a bit of sarna and then she is coming off the leash for a while. Let's hope she is tranquila.

Lo que quizá haya olvidado mencionar sobre Lila es que, técnicamente, ella también es una perrita rescatada. La «cuidadora» (en sentido amplio) de su mamá me envió un mensaje diciendo que, si no la recogía, la ataría en un saco y la llevaría al otro lado de la ciudad. Había un cachorro hermano que algunos vecinos ya habían «adoptado» cuando aún era pequeño. Pero inmediatamente comenzaron a ahuyentar a la madre cuando ella iba a visitarlo para darle teta, leche. Desapareció y supongo que murió.

Retrasé a la mujer diciéndole que iría lo antes posible a llevar a Lila a casa... Para que pudiera quedarse con su mamá y beber su leche el mayor tiempo posible. Y cuando la llevé a casa, bebió leche fresca de vaca y de cabra mezclada con un poco de ración durante las primeras semanas. ¡Es una niña grande, fuerte y sana!

Uno de mis peores temores se hizo realidad, pero también pasó sin dramas ni problemas. Mi sobrina querida adoptiva quería pasar la noche lejos de sus padres, en mi cabaña. En realidad, al principio dijo que una semana y luego «al menos cinco días».

Al principio nos lo pasamos muy bien juntos y luego nos fuimos a la cama. La mañana también fue muy agradable, hasta que Nena sintió una «agresividad adorable» hacia Lovey. Solo quería abrazarle la cabeza... Pero eso le desconcertó y él la gruñaba y la asustó mucho. Pero no lo suficiente.

Lo volvió a hacer un poco más tarde. Me veo muy reflejada en ella. Me identifico mucho con la forma en que se mueve su sistema energético y esos momentos de emociones positivas casi abrumadoras, como la «agresividad adorable».

Superé el juicio propio y fui capaz de rechazar por completo las etiquetas y los «diagnósticos» repugnantes. Por ahora no voy a entrar en detalles sobre los rituales de dar vergüenza por la psiciatria y el lavado de cerebro de los «diagnósticos» psiquiátricos. Te contaré una parte de cómo lo hice. Uno de mis mejores amigos comenzó a tratarme de una manera tremendamente poderosa, sin entenderlo realmente él mismo. Lo quiero tanto que cuando nos abrazamos es casi demasiado intenso para mi cuerpo y tiemblo con la fuerza del abrazo. He sido capaz de entrenarme para manejar esto compartiéndolo. Abro mi centro de corazón y dejo que fluya, para no sentir que mi cuerpo físico va a explotar. Pero nunca se lo he dicho a él ni a nadie más. (Esto es así con cualquier persona por la que siento algo fuerte).

Vale... Su parte fue que empezó a pedírmelo. Estábamos juntos en una banda. Aquellos fueron algunos de los mejores momentos de mi vida. Cuando le entraba un ataque de nervios antes de salir al escenario, empezaba a llevarme a cualquier lugar más o menos privado donde pudiéramos estar un rato a solas y me decía: «Necesito que hagas eso que haces, que irradias todo ese amor intenso y bondad hacia mí». Me calma y me da fuerzas, y lo necesito antes de salir al escenario». Así que él lo sentía. No era mi imaginación. No me habría importado mucho si solo fuera algo que yo sintiera... Porque a mí me funciona, así que sería suficiente. Pero él también lo siente. Interesante.

Siempre he creído, pero también siempre he tenido fuertes dudas. A veces he vivido largos periodos sometiéndome a la dualidad y otras veces sintiéndome en conflicto. Hace tiempo que soy consciente de cómo funciona la disonancia cognitiva, y supongo que parte de ella reside a menudo en nuestros puntos ciegos.

La dulce Nena, con la mejor de las intenciones y todo su amor, resultó herida por el perro Lovey. Afortunadamente, solo fue un rasguño superficial causado por sus dientes. Pero nos aterrorizó a los dos. Aunque esta valiente niña solo derramó unas pocas lágrimas y ya está empezando a perdonarlo. Hablamos con sinceridad sobre cómo quería que yo actuara con él y si creía que mejoraría en su relación con las personas, y también hablamos mucho sobre la seguridad al interactuar con TODOS los perros. Ella se mantuvo firme en que, pasara lo que pasara, «matar perros está mal». Y su madre dijo: «Si ella está bien, no te preocupes. Son cosas que pasan en la infancia. Ambos están aprendiendo».

Volvamos al aquí y ahora. Ninguna persona es monolítica. El hecho mismo de que todos tengamos puntos ciegos es una de las cosas que da tanto valor a las relaciones interpersonales. Lo que Lovey, Lila y yo hemos iniciado en este nuevo capítulo es desarrollar algunas de las relaciones más saludables y sanadoras. Nuestra nueva familia del corazón está formada por personas con traumas y estructuras de defensa similares y complementarias. Y con un compromiso compartido con la introspección y abiertos a la crítica constructiva, podemos protegernos unos a otros y crecer. Afrontamos los retos y nos esforzamos a nosotros mismos y a los demás con amor, con pena y con mucha dulzura. Puedo oírlo y lo digo cuando me dicen: «Este tampoco. Es otro que quiere aprovecharse. Tú sigues viendo solo lo mejor. Pero confía en nosotros porque te queremos y te valoramos mucho y no podemos permitirnos perderte». Vale.

¿Y Lovey? Bueno, lleva libre, sin ataduras, desde hace un día y medio, desde que nos mudamos oficialmente al nuevo lugar donde viviremos y estamos construyendo nuestra Ecoalea/ecovillage. Pensaba que tendríamos que esperar hasta que pudiera construir una zona vallada para Lovey. Pero sus dos nuevos mejores amigos humanos me convencieron de que estará bien y se comportará cada vez mejor.

Y hasta ahora, todo va bien. Hace tiempo que siento que sería muy beneficioso para Lovey vivir en un lugar sin recuerdos ni asociaciones con su vida anterior. Imagínate, en mi casa, las personas que solían torturarlo siguen estando presentes de forma habitual. Él puede verlas, oírlas y olerlas en la casa de al lado. Pude ver claramente su ansiedad, especialmente en la musculatura de su cara y también en todo su cuerpo...

Por un lado, se estaba volviendo cada vez más relajado, seguro, feliz y tranquilo. Pero, por otro lado, seguía sufriendo con esos estímulos concretos.

Ahora pasa casi todo el tiempo tumbado a mi lado, junto al fuego. Hay otros dos perros que fueron prácticamente abandonados aquí. Burzia es la chica grande y ha sido un poco difícil con ella. Pero eso ya está mejorando rápidamente. Y la pequeña bola de pelo negro es «Sunny».

Ayer Burzia estaba atada y todavía lo está por ahora... Pero en un momento se soltó y se mostró un poco agresiva con Lila. Lila corrió y se escondió detrás de Lovey, que todavía estaba atado porque acabábamos de llegar. Pero él siguió persiguiendo a Burzia y se ha mostrado receloso con ella, con razón, hasta esta mañana...

Esta mañana me he esforzado por demostrarles que Burzia también es mi amiga y que es de confianza, y tras varias visitas con ella, Lovey ha empezado a ignorarnos en lugar de intentar interponerse entre Burzia y yo gruñéndole.

Burzia está recibiendo tratamiento ahora, para unas heriditas y un poco de sarna , y luego le quitaremos la correa por un tiempo. Esperemos que esté tranquila.
