20211024 Bungalow construction (bedroom wall color) - day 110

The bedroom walls with be colored dans la masse. To that end we add pigments to the cement used for the last coat and we will probably keep the marks of the material spreading tools and not doing a smooth render which often kills the vibrancy of the process.

Plaster color tests were done in the workshop. The texture has a painterly quality. Rothko jumps at me. This piece could be from MR's studio on the Bowery in what... 1948-49? It is tempting to try to emulate him but that would take another decade and we kind of need to finish this project sooner.

The bedroom walls are being plastered.

To get a better sense of the colors we do new tests on the bedroom walls, inside and outside.

The new tests need to dry so in the meantime we cut the dry Rothko off the workshop wall and bring the pieces up to compare. It's crazy. Now we are channeling one of MR's inspiration: Pompeii

Sand color on the left is the favorite.
