A weekend in Bayfield, Wisconsin: October 25 2025

I’ve spent the weekend with a lovely group of women at a place called

, which is a beautiful spa hotel in the town of Bayfield Wisconsin.

What’s interesting is that I didn’t know any of these women before coming here. I just signed up for the trip because it sounded. Like a fun thing to do in the fall. And sure enough, we have had perfect weather and sunshine illuminating the beautiful fall trees.

This retreat weekend is all about eating nourishing food, discussing great books, walking, shopping, talking with interesting and like-minded book enthusiasts, and doing yoga. I have to say, after a few days of this I feel fantastic!

We have taken some wonderful walks through the woods into the little downtown area, which is very quaint and has a number of delightful stores.

The leader of our group is named Kerri Miller. She is a local celebrity as she has been interviewing authors on Minnesota Public Radio for about 20 years. Her show is called

The activities include walking and yoga, so I’ve been getting plenty of exercise this weekend!
