A stroll on the shore of Lake Superior: October 26 2025

On my way home from my weekend get-away in Bayfield Wisconsin, I discovered a great little waterfront park and walking trail. I don’t think I had made it more than about a mile before I spotted it and decided to check it out.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day! And I wasn’t quite ready to consider the weekend “over” so following a little path along the lake before my four-hour drive home seemed like a great idea.

There were a lot of signs with interesting history about the area. I took pictures so I could read them later!

There were a lot of words on every sign, and I was really wanting to take a quick, brusque hike and get back on the road. Otherwise if I’d had a more leisurely day planned, I would have read them on the spot.

The path took me to a lovely child’s playground, a picnic area. a campground, a swimming beach and a boat dock.

Most things were closing for the season, but it was an unseasonably gorgeous day and I could envision how busy and active it must be in the summer.

Time for the walk back! I was so charmed by this trail. I saw just a few other people walking the trail on this gorgeous day!

There were some dogs enjoying chasing toys their owners were tossing into the lake.

Well that’s about it for this post. I took more photos, but perhaps more is not better!
